I’ve been talking to a lot of people lately about this whole limbo phase between summer and fall. The summer trends are played out…everyone looks the same on the streets with the deep V’s, rolled up pants or short shorts, canvas tote bags….but it’s too hot out to move to fall stuff and it’s too late in the season to really buy anything or try anything new. I’ll admit that I’ve been a little lazy. With the heat and the summer wrapping up I find myself throwing on the same stuff just to get through the day. So what to do?

I think it’s just about trying to find a middle ground between summer and fall. Pair that new denim work shirt with khaki shorts and brown dress shoes for a look that foreshadows the fall but works great on a hot day. Or add a colorful tie or lite scarf to those gingham shirts you’ve been wearing all summer to break up the trend. Tie’s are something that need to come back, especially amongst young people….but that’s for a later post
